November Reading Wrap-Up

OH HEY everyone. I'm back from my food coma. It was pretty great and also warm. ALSO PUPPIES! I will have a post with puppy pictures soon though I'm going to apologize right now at the small number of puppy pictures. Apparently I have used up ALL the space on my phone and I spent some time deleting songs (no, but I NEED all 1500 of these songs on me at all times because what if I need the Grease soundtrack at a moment's notice, HOW CAN YOU MAKE ME CHOOSE?) to get more space but yeah, there are limited pictures. Perhaps I can convince the family to send up some additional ones.

ANYWAY November reading. I did better than I thought, but that's only because I thought I did really really badly. So, hooray for low expectations?

Number of books read
5

Drop Dead Healthy by A.J. Jacobs (audiobook)
The Collector by John Fowles
What The Dinosaurs Did Last Night by Refe and Susan Tuma

Number of pages read
1,506

Percentage of fiction read
80%

Percentage of female authors
16% cos the Dino one is written (or really more accurately photographed) by a husband & wife team.

Percentage of white authors
100% - sigh. Again.

Percentage of US authors
66%

Percentage of ebooks
20%

Percentage of rereads
0%

Percentage of review books
20%

Books written by decade
1960s - 20%
2010s - 80%

Books by genre
Humor - 40%
Health - 20%
Horror/Suspense - 20%
Children's - 20%

So I read more pages than I assumed by that variety is pretty pathetic. Ugh. I don't know how much better December will be since I'm currently making my way through the third Game of Thrones book*, A Storm of Swords and that book is roughly eleventy-billion pages and while they go relatively quickly, that's still a lot of Martin-land. Maybe January will be better.

*Yes, I KNOW it's really A Song of Ice and Fire series but since that name is stupid and everyone knows GoT, that's what I'm going with.

I read more men this month that I usually do, which kinda surprised me.

I'm just gonna stay tuned for any puppy photos you might be able to share. They don't have to be North Carolina Thanksgiving Puppy photos. Just sayin'.

Your December page count will be WAY high because of the Game of Thrones book. (obviously this is how people should refer to them).

Yay for November being a surprisingly good reading month for all. Or for you and I anyway.

I'm pretty sure I started tracking pages read after reading the first GoT book (you know, the one actually called GoT) cos I was sad I had read so few books and wanted credit for ALL THE PAGES.
It's cold and dreary today and I need a puppy photo asap! I haven't tackled on the GoT series (yes, we are all going to call it what it is) because of the fact that it is indeed eleventy-billion pages! Your page count for next month is going to be extraordinary!

I WILL GET THE PUPPIES PHOTOS UP SOON. Perfect thing for a cold and dreary day. The eleventy-billion pages go fairly quickly. So it feels more like 700 pages. Some of it might go fast cos I do sort of skim through battle scenes
PUPPIES!!

Did you mention the Collector during the minithon? I remember someone mentioning it recently and I purchased a copy to read for myself (I could probably search this down for myself but laaaaaazy).

A Storm of Swords was published in two halves in Australia because of that eleventy billion page issue. I actually can't comprehend how anyone can physically hold that book if it isn't split up because the two halves were HUGE.

I DID mention reading the Collector. Let me know what you think of it!! Cos it was a lot different than I thought. Not in a bad way but for whatever reason I was thinking it would be more Silence of the Lambs-y. I have no idea why I got that in my head but yeah, I did.

I haven't even attempted physical copies of any GoT books. I don't care if I can find them cheaper that way, I'm going ecopies for those.
