I'm pregnant!
Just about 6 mos along now. We're not posting anything about it to social. I mean, it's not a secret or anything but we just decided to keep it from there. Besides, my social media is a curated collection of ridiculous gifs, book news, food pictures, random resistance posts, and bitching about public transportation. I have an image to maintain and all.
And with that I wasn't originally planning on saying anything on the blog until Thor (I've been calling the fetus Thor since the beginning since we don't plan on sharing the name til he's here and it often feels like there's a god of thunder in there) gets here. But I also thought I would keep up with my my normal blogging schedule because why would things change?

Yeah...that's fair |
So this is to say I haven't been around but I have a good excuse and it may take some time til I'm back to a normal (or new normal) schedule BUT I will be back here posting. I like writing about books. I'm still reading. I love reading other people's blog posts and commenting on them and this community is just the best.

Sorry I didn't read this sooner. Life has taken me away from my favourite blogs :(
I'm super happy for you. You must be even more tired by now. Sleep was my favourite thing with both pregnancies, though also pre-natal yoga and pastries. Also spicy meat. Pregnancy is weird...and a lot of work. You're creating a new human it there!

I have been so tired (both exhausted, I'm falling asleep and just mentally exhausted). Pregnancy is SO WEIRD. I cannot get over that. It's the weirdest and so much work and I very much look forward to him being out here.

I hope you're getting lots of sleep. You're going to need it :P
I found wrapping my mind around the idea of being a parent part of what made me so tired, excited, but tired. You just want to be so prepared, but each baby/pregnancy/situation is different.
A few unsolicited tips:
If you keep your feet up, they don't swell as much. Also, don't be surprised if your shoes stretch.
Your body temp goes up when you're pregnant (I remember sweating in March), so just dress how you feel.
Embrace the hormones. This is the only time you can snap at people, then be like, oops! hormones! I was definitely bitchier when pregnant and also super weepy. I also didn't give an eff. I cried during a Star Trek movie, so, whatever.
Don't be surprised if some of your "pregnancy" symptoms extend post-partum. They can spike right after birth. It's part of the process.
That's it for now. Sorry if it's tmi. I wish people told me more when I was pregnant, because I want to know and be prepared. I had a cousin who told me after that they "didn't want to scare me". Really? It's not like finding out about crying over McDonald's commercials was going to suddenly make me not want to have my baby. So, sometimes I go on too much when it comes to pregnancies... sorry!
