Book Blog Hop IX

I was debating skipping this week's hop, hosted by Crazy-for-Books, but then I realized that hurricane is supposed to hit the East coast all weekend and I'll probably be trapped inside so what better to do with my time than hop around and find some new book blogs.  So there you go, a hurricane induced hop.

This week's question is "Do you judge a book by its cover?"
Yes, I definitely do.  If I'm not already familiar with the author or the book a cover will either make me walk on by or pick it up.  I have not (yet) bought a book based entirely on the cover but a good cover will be a way for the book to get a foot in the door.  Or a page in the door I suppose.

What do you think?  Do you judge books by their covers?  Do covers matter?

I always judge books by their covers because I'm a bit of a cover whore haha that said, not all great books have great covers :)
I hope I don't wind up submitting a comment twice (my first attempt seems to have disappeared without me clicking anything)...anywhoo..

Just stopping by on the hop. Be safe in the hurricane! Here's my hop answer: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2010/09/friday...
Stopping by via the hop...I think it depends - there's a place and time when book covers come into play as to if I will read the book.

Happy Friday!

Always With a Book
I think it's difficult to NOT think about a book's cover, especially if it's really beautiful. Admittedly, pretty covers make me reach for books on a display, but I rely a lot on reviews, etc to find my reading, so if something sounds really good, I'm reading it regardless of the cover.

Happy Friday!
Hopefully, the weather wont be so bad for you this weekend out there in Boston (right?).
I don't think I have ever bought any book based on the cover or even only the title. I don't think I ever can.
